Simpack
SIMPACK, the world leading Multi-Body Simulation (MBS) software, is used
primarily within the automotive, engine, railway and wind energy industrial
sectors, for simulating the motion of any mechanical system. SIMPACK is
particularly well-suited for high frequency transient analyses, even into the
acoustic range. SIMPACK was primarily developed to handle complex nonlinear
systems with flexible bodies and harsh shock contact.
SIMPACK GmbH, a spin-off of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), was
founded in 1993. Today SIMPACK GmbH is an international and steadily
growing company, developing the virtual prototyping and 3D-MBS software
SIMPACK.
With its headquarters in Gilching, near Munich, SIMPACK GmbH has
subsidiaries and distributors all over the world. SIMPACK GmbH also offers
high-level consulting and engineering services in the field of virtual prototyping
and prides itself in having quick response times to customers’ needs and
wishes.
In July 2014, the SIMPACK Group was acquired by Dassault Systèmes,
giving the growth and development of SIMPACK an all-new perspective and
dimension. As part of the SIMULIA Brand, SIMPACK is now the strategic MBS
component of the Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE portfolio.
SIMPACK has been used by customers for more than 20 years to enable high
fidelity simulation for predicting vehicle ride, ride comfort and engine and
driveline noise and vibration. With SIMPACK Realtime a major breakthrough
in the field of realtime simulations has been achieved.
SIMPACK Realtime enables the use of detailed models for a wide range of
performance-critical realtime applications such as Hardware-in-the-Loop
(HiL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) scenarios. Typical applications include
handling and comfort simulations, ECU testing and component test rigs, e.g.
for gearboxes and engines.
With SIMPACK Realtime, the user can remain in the SIMPACK environment
and start the SIMPACK Realtime solver directly, without a time-consuming
code generation and compilation process. Unlike previous realtime solutions,
SIMPACK Realtime works directly with fully parameterized SIMPACK models
without the need for model reduction or a lookup table generation process.
SIMPACK Realtime supports a wide variety of targets, including dSPACE,
Concurrent and Simulink®.
All SIMPACK features are 100% compatible enabling specific developments
to benefit all SIMPACK users regardless of the application area.
